    1. Green flags
    - Classes were generally engaged
    - Mei's homeroom is beautifully decorated

    2. Red flags
    - Several students were caught still being in the toilet. The toilet had a strong smell of cigarettes. When questioned, they denied and said it was probably the group before them. A quick spot check of their bags revealed nothing.

    - Cigarette packets were in all male toilets (2nd & 3rd floor C Block, 1st & 3rd floor G Block)

    - Took photographs of all the cigarette packs.

    3. General
Almost all homerooms are not decorated. The CD posters have been put up in almost all homerooms. But teachers should be encouraged to put up the rest of the necessary items.

    Red flags
    - Class / students having PE in parade square were very loud. They could be heard as far as at the far end of G-block 4th floor. Suggestion: If a noisy game is to be played and noise is anticipated, class should be moved away to indoor sports hall?
    - Student sitting out of class (Mei / Charis / Cindy's EL class). He looked liked he was sent out. One of the teachers could have taken the opportunity to speak with him or engage him as there were 3 in the homeroom. He was fidgeting with his mobile when I saw him.

  12. I had not being putting up for comment for weeks due to relief duty due to dept members on course or MC- do not have the luxury of co-teaching in my dept. I sincerely hope to be able to perform duty this coming Monday. Fingers cross. Had done my walkabout on some other occasions.

    Genral observation
    1. GREEN flags

Most classes were engaged in the lessons. Co-teaching is useful especially the co-teacher assists to mainytain discipline and/or guide the weaker students to keep up the pace of learning instead.

As the doors of the classrooms were not locked, I had witnessed a number of times the whole class was self engaged in revision/doing homework/reading a story book in the classroom (against the procedure of waiting outside classroom for teacher) while waiting for teacher to come. Kudos

Teachers were appreciative when we came to manage the very difficult student/s to allow them to teach the majority who were keen to learn.

Picked up a couple of classroom teaching /management tips from fellow colleagues (even the new teachers)

    2. RED flags

Students had been playing hide and seek with us in the various spot for smoking- Various toilets, 2 side corridors & staircase of the hall, behind the stage of the hall.

Students did not move as a class during the shift for one homeroom to another especially before and after pe lesson.

Teachers should place the student/s within line of sight who was/were sent out of the class. Worksheet should still be given to get the student engaged.

As the soccer field (away from classrooms) is unavailable, teaching area for PE lesson is limited especially during adverse weather or periods with 4 classes of PE going on, the noise level at the period square is a issue.

    3. Any other observations.

Although classroom is allocated for PE theory lesson, some classrooms were hijacked by a few teachers who chose to split the class for better teaching delivery.

RP was conducted and in-house suspension of 1 hour was carried out by me before the boys were assessed ready to be back for lesson. Will follow up the progress of the 2 boys.

    - The lighting in the hall was not controlled by the switches at the stage and hence light could not be switch off even when no one was using it.
